About

Who We Are

English City was founded January 2020 by Mike & Iara Stein. Together, we have over 10 years of experience teaching English and we wanted to bring our passion for teaching online to make it accessible to all. Our mission is to make learning English as a Second Language (ESL) fun and exciting through the use of engaging games and videos. On this site you'll find games that test your understanding as well as your pronunciation and use of grammar and vocabulary. We are constantly updating this site so please check back frequently or follow us on social media to stay up to date! 

Our Method

We use the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) Levels to help sort our games and make it easier for teachers and learners to use our grammar resources. We also follow several vocabulary lists and philosophies and have collated what we believe to be the most common vocabulary words in English to help learners start speaking and understanding faster! 

Roadmap

Learning English is a huge endeavor and we plan to create a somewhat exhaustive collection of grammar concepts, vocabulary and speaking games. We are currently working on this site as a hobby and would like to devote more time to this in the future.
